Organizational Structure
Understanding the hierarchy of the Federation’s structure can answer a lot of questions about how the National Federation of Music Clubs operates and the role each part of the Federation plays.

TFMC — all ages are invited to become active members in one of three membership categories (Junior, Student/Collegiate, Senior).

JUNIOR — Kindergarten through High School; ages vary for Junior Division awards, scholarships, and programs, see the NFMC Competitions & Awards Chart. Junior memberships may be Individual or Organization (members age 18 or younger). Junior Individual memberships may be classified as Individual or Cradle Roll.

COLLEGIATE — 19 to 26; ages vary for Student/Collegiate awards, scholarships, and programs see the NFMC Competitions & Awards Chart. Collegiate memberships may be Individual or Organization (members between the ages of 19 to 26)

SENIOR — ages in TFMC clubs range from 19 to 100! Senior memberships may be Individual or Organization (ages 19 or older). Individual memberships may be classified as Individual, Life, Subscriber, Donor, or Patron.

TFMC Membership Status - annual membership dues amounts vary according to the membership status which defines the level of desired involvement in NFMC/TFMC programs, events, and business affairs. Members may change to a higher membership status by paying the higher annual dues amount or, if a current member, by paying the difference in dues amounts.

ACTIVE - eligible to participate in all business affairs, programs, and events of TFMC/NFMC; includes voting rights; eligible to participate in festivals and to compete in all NFMC/TFMC awards programs.

ASSOCIATE - may attend business functions (not required), eligible to participate on a limited basis in many programs and events of TFMC/NFMC; ineligible to participate in festivals and NFMC/TFMC awards programs; no voting rights

HONORARY - conferred upon an individual who has achieved distinction in music or who has rendered signal service to the Federation

LIFE - has all privileges/responsibilities of active membership; not transferable from state to state; includes voting rights

SUBSCRIBER, DONOR, PATRON - has all privileges/responsibilities of active membership; not transferable from state to state; includes voting rights

CRADLE ROLL - birth to five years of age

South Central Region — Texas is part of this NFMC region which includes the states of: Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri and Oklahoma

TFMC is a member state of National Federation of Music Clubs - see the website at nfmc-music.org for information on the national organization. NFMC's nine divisions include: Administrative, American Music, Arts, Competitions and Awards, Finance, Junior, Membership & Education, Public Relations, and Student/Collegiate.
